About us

The Guild was formed in 1972 to allow all people with a love for hand embroidery to gather and share ideas, inspire and learn from one another, and enjoy stitching together. New members are always welcome, regardless of skill level!

The Craft & Quilt Fair: A stitcher's version of Heaven

Among the many benefits of a guild membership are weekly gatherings, Stitch and Share, workshops, access to our library, regular newsletters, and the opportunity to participate in exhibitions and other special events.

Gatherings are held weekly at Lenah Valley Baptist Centre.

Hardanger embroidery workshop (Part 2)

This two-part workshop will be run by Joan Andrews, a resident Tasmanian who has been tutoring for many years and has recently had one of her designs published in a new book entitled Award-winning Designs in Hardanger Embroidery 2013.

It is suitable for beginner stitchers, covering basic Hardanger stitches and techniques. Participants will work towards completion of a small table mat.
