The Guild was formed in 1972 to allow all people with a love for hand embroidery to gather and share ideas, inspire and learn from one another, and enjoy stitching together. New members are always welcome, regardless of skill level!

Among the many benefits of a guild membership are weekly gatherings, Stitch and Share, workshops, access to our library, regular newsletters, and the opportunity to participate in exhibitions and other special events.

When and where do we gather?

Gatherings are held weekly at Lenah Valley Baptist Centre.

Effie Mitrofanis is visiting Hobart in October to run these two workshops. She is the author of some very inspiring books, including Threadwork, and her colourful and sumptuous work is a tactile, creative delight. These workshops suit both beginners and more advanced students.

Applications and payments are due by the 21st of August.

Please note that non-members are most welcome to apply for a workshop place, but first preference is given to members.
